The self catering cottage and lodge accommodation at Exmoor Gate is in a lovely wooded hillside location, tucked into the beautiful Brendon Hills countryside. Only ten minutes drive from Exmoor National Park, and within easy reach of the Somerset and Devon coasts, it is a perfect base for touring this part of the South West of England. There are several interesting towns and villages nearby where you have a choice of places to eat and shop, including Wiveliscombe, Wellington, Taunton, Bampton and Tiverton. This is a small family-run park, where we will do all we can to make your stay with us enjoyable.

Our Lodges
Bratton, Dunkery, Honeymead, Liscombe, Molland, and Tarr Lodges all have a 4 star rating from Visit Britain. These two bedroom lodges sleep up to 5 people, with a ground floor twin bedroom, a double bedroom upstairs and a single bed on the galleried landing. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with overhead shower, a well equipped kitchen and open-plan lounge/diner. All are double glazed and have night storage heating, making them ideal all year round accommodation, whatever the weather. Some of these lodges have their own private hot tubs, and pets are accepted in some – please ask when booking.
Our lodges provide light and airy Scandinavian style self-catering accommodation. They have a hillside location in a pretty wooded valley, each having its own private patio with picnic bench and barbeque.
We have six lodges that sleep up to 5 people, and a larger one, new in 2006, sleeping up to 9.
Withypool is a luxurious four bedroom lodge sleeping up to 9 people. Newly built in 2006, it provides fabulous family accommodation, with its own private outdoor hot tub. On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom, a shower room, a large, comfortable and stylish open plan kitchen/diner and lounge which opens
up onto a veranda where there is a picnic bench and barbeque. Upstairs the main bedroom has a kingsize double and a single bed, and an ensuite bathroom. There are two further spacious double rooms, each with a kingsize bed, and a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Withypool Lodge is suitable for partially disabled guests – please check when making your booking.
We have a games room for all guests’ use, with table tennis, table football (coin-operated), a pool table, a gym and fitness room, a sauna (coin-operated), and a young children’s indoor play area. There is also a small outdoor play area for children.
Our Cottages:
Exmoor Gate House This is a comfortable, spacious country cottage sleeping up to 8 people, complete with its own private indoor swimming pool! Providing self-catering cottage accommodation of a very high standard, Exmoor Gate House is a perfect base for a holiday in this part of Somerset.
The cottage has four bedrooms: a ground floor twin, two double rooms on the first floor, (one with an additional single bed), and a single room. Also upstairs is a family bathroom with a shower attachment. Downstairs the charming sitting room is full of character, with beams and a large inglenook fireplace, complete with woodburner.
The well equipped kitchen has a breakfast area, and there is a dining room/conservatory overlooking the garden. There is also a ground floor bathroom with WC. Pets are allowed at Exmoor Gate House – please ask when booking.
There is parking for all units, either beside the cottage or lodge, or in the car park.
